She Rests Her Head Video
May 26Back in February, I told you about Augusta’s local music awards show where I was nominee and a performer. Tonight I stumbled across my page on Lounge’s Local Band Guide, where I was surprised to find a video from the awards show! Thanks, Joe Mason!
Joe recorded my performance of “She Rests Her Head,” the first track off my album, Tequila Mockingbird. Some of you may remember “She Rests Her Head” as the song I performed at the finals for the Lilith Fair Talent Search where I was runner-up. It’s always been one of my favorite songs, so I was thrilled to find Joe’s video on Lounge.
Check out the video for “She Rests Her Head” on Lounge.com.

Time for an intimate acoustic show
March 2It’s been quite a while since I had a show that was low key and more about the music than the atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing gigs like Joe’s Underground and 1102, but I wouldn’t consider those places to be great “listening” rooms. This Saturday, March 8th, I’m playing a show at Common Grounds Coffeehouse. This will be my first time at this venue, but from what I’ve heard it should be a great night. They serve coffee and wine (not sure about food) and I’ll also have some CDs available. Tickets are $8 at the door. If there’s something in particular you’d like to hear, leave a comment and tell me what I should definitely include in the set.
I hope to see you there!

Local Music Awards this Saturday
February 6Just a reminder that the 2008 Lokal Loudness Choice Awards show is this Saturday, Feb. 9 @ the 1102 Back Bar. I’ll be presenting as well as performing a short set (probably around 9 or so), plus maybe walking home with the award for Augusta’s favorite solo artist. The full lineup and list of nominees can be found at Augusta’s local music home, LokalLoudness.org.
On that note, if you haven’t checked out the new Lokal Loudness website, you should stop by. There’s a ton of content there – news, reviews, interviews – as well as links to everything related to Augusta’s local music scene. You may be surprised to see how many bands there actually are in Augusta! It’s worth a look, though, if you enjoy live music or live in the CSRA.
Hope to see you there.
